Testing for COVID-19

COVID-19 PCR Test

RT-PCR stands for Reverse Transcription  Polymerase Chain Reaction, a molecular pathology technique used to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Reverse Transcription converts the viral RNA into DNA, followed by the PCR process that replicates this DNA multiple times so as to make it detect SARS-CoV-2. This process generally takes around 3 hours.

Sample consist of rubbing a swab around the back of the throat and also in the nasal track.

RT-PCR is currently the universally acknowledged gold standard test for the detection of COVID-19 disease.

COVID-19 Tests performed by our laboratories are 99.9% accurate and meet the latest guidelines on specificity and sensitivity. We work with a network of laboratories so that our clients are never denied the testing capacity when they need it the most. Supported by a world class logistics network, test results are delivered within 24 hours of sample arriving at our laboratories.

All this without requiring any travel and results are shared electronically.

COVID-19  Rapid Antigen Test

COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (also referred as Lateral Flow Test) identifies COVID-19 present in a swab sample and gives a quick and qualitative result within 15 minutes. This test quickly detects the presence or absence of SARS-CoV-2 antigen and very useful for point of care testing.

A swab is used to collect sample from the nose or throat of the patient which is then suspended in a buffer solution. Using a dropper, this buffer solution is introduced into the test cassette.

Introducing rapid screening for COVID-19 can save significant time and cost in comparison to other type of tests, in the process help control the spread of the virus.

COVID-19  for Corporates

Covid-19 PCR tests can be the way by which companies can proactively protect their staff by providing the facility for COVID-19 test results within 48 hours. These tests can provide confidence to staff that it is safe to attend office on a regular basis, participate in a group event or visiting clients.

We have partnered with Department of Health approved lab to provide COVID-19 PCR test in places of work e.g., offices, manufacturing units, shopping areas, educational institutions, transport etc.

Screening can be carried out at an appropriate frequency and at a convenient location without requiring any travel.

COVID-19  for Clinics

COVID-19 PCR Tests are seeing an increased demand from private clinics (both physical as well as online service providers).

This requirement may be arising from

  • plans to travel (fit to fly) and in need of COVID-19 test results to meet travel guidelines

  • those who are asymptomatic and are anxious to know if they are carrying the virus. of their infection status due to their specific situation.

The increase in number of infections is likely to increase this demand with an effect that a clinic may need to work with more than one labs to address any capacity constraints. Service is designed to overcome any capacity constraints by distributing the testing requirements according to the capacity available with the labs.

We are your link with Department of Health approved labs and have established an end to end logistics process to provide a seamless COVID-19 testing service.

COVID-19
Contact

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

Typical symptoms include fever, sever cough, breathing difficulty and loss of smell and taste. These symptoms have been reported to appear from one to fourteen days after the infection, and a high percentage of patients do not show any symptoms.

Most of the patients develop mild symptoms, some people (including those with underlying health conditions) develop acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

A longer term damage to organs (particularly heart and lungs) has been observed. Some patients continue to experience a range of effects known as long COVID, often for months afterwards.
